2024/2025
Our Last Journey
In the final year of the project, the travel component was shifted to the Fall Reading Week of 2024.
Powerful Voices
Students and faculty visited San Felipe and Ojo de Agua, this time focusing on advanced storytelling techniques using cameras, audio recorders, and mobile gimbals. This hands-on experience allowed the Youth Mentors to sharpen their interviewing and technical skills with professional-grade equipment.

Renewal & Appreciation
The cohort also visited the Mayan ruins of Iximche and toured the historic city of La Antigua to gain a deeper appreciation for Guatemala’s art, culture, and Indigenous heritage.

The Durham College students in the Interactive Media Design and Web Development programs designed an archival website to showcase the talents of the DC students and Youth Mentors and celebrate the friendships made and the efforts of all involved.
