
2022/2023
Another Journey Abroad
In the fall of 2022, a diverse group of students from Durham College’s Media, Art and Design programs connected online with youth from the communities of Las Arrugas, San Felipe, and Ojo de Agua in Guatemala. Together, they explored the power of storytelling through workshops in video, photo essays, and podcasting.
Documenting Change
The group also documented the donation of three laptops—funded by the EnactusDC Founder’s Drive podcast—to three young women entrepreneurs, supporting them in launching their businesses and pursuing post-secondary education.


Reflection & Appreciation
On the return trip to Canada, the group stopped in La Antigua to explore the lasting impacts of Spanish colonialism, appreciate local art and architecture, and enjoy a memorable hike up Pacaya volcano with faculty member Jennifer Bedford.

The students worked to create lasting impacts by providing mentorship and mutual learning to each other. It was then they cultivated.
